Probiotic strains and probiotic/synbiotic finished products
Probiotical offers a wide range of probiotic active ingredients at standard concentrations in freeze-dried form for applications in the food, nutraceutical and pharmaceutical sectors.
As result of in-depth research and rigorous selection criteria as well as a particular production process these strains possess the following characteristics:
- safety of use (absence of antibiotic resistance and resistance transfer elements)
- correct taxonomic classification (by biochemical methods and state-of-the-art molecular techniques)
- deposited in International Culture Collections
- microbiological purity
- physiological functionality (resistance to gastric juices, pancreatic secretion, bile salts)
- technological functionality (elevated microbial concentration and long-term stability at room temperature)
- probiotic efficacy supported by clinical studies
Our portfolio also includes probiotic cultures which are allergen-free (based upon an international patent) to safeguard the health of consumers suffering from or prone to food intolerances and/or allergies. The manufacturing process upon which the patent is based is characterised by the production of biobulk freeze-dried strains which are free of potential allergens identified in Annex IIIa of the Commission Directive 2007/68/EC.
Allergen-free probiotic cultures are indispensable for children as their allergy profile is not well defined yet.
Probiotical exclusively uses top quality freeze-dryers (pharmaceutical type) and can really produce strains like Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) supported by Drug Master File (DMF).
For example Probiotical has obtained, from the owner company the exclusive authorization for pharmaceutical production of Lactobacillus rhamnosus LGG®.
Referred to this application typology, Probiotical is also able to prepare DMF for every probiotic strain belonging to the customer.
