Scientific Rationale

BIFIFIBER® is a dietary supplement formulated to specifically address intestinal discomfort, chronic constipation, and hard stools. This supplement combines a particular Bifidobacterium strain with fructooligosaccharides (FOS), targeting various gastrointestinal issues.

  • Bifidobacterium animalis subsp. lactis BS01: Probiotical's standout strain for gastrointestinal discomfort, BS01 has been selected for its remarkable properties. It helps reduce oxidative stress, commonly elevated in conditions of constipation and dysbiosis. Additionally, BS01 aids in restoring and protecting the integrity of the intestinal membrane, which can be compromised by increased pro-inflammatory stimuli. This strain also stimulates the immune system against viral pathogens [1].

BIFIFIBER® has undergone clinical testing in patients experiencing evacuation disorders or chronic constipation [2,3]. In these two clinical trials, supplementation with BIFIFIBER® for periods of 15 and 30 days significantly improved constipation and all associated symptoms. These improvements included better stool consistency, a sensation of complete emptying, reduced abdominal bloating, and alleviation of anal itching, burning, and pain.
