Scientific Rationale

PROBIAL® Skin Atopic is a symbiotic food supplement, containing Bifidobacterium animalis subsp. lactis BS01 and Lacticaseibacillus rhamnosus LR05, along with fructooligosaccharides. It has been specifically designed to target atopic dermatitis. The combination of BS01 and LR05 has been demonstrated to induce elevated IL-10 secretion, along with a shift from a Th2- to a more Th1- and Th17-like phenotype [1]. PROBIAL® Skin Atopic has been clinically studied in adults with documented atopic dermatitis (observational study). After 2 and 4 months of administration, PROBIAL® Skin Atopic had positive effects on skin normalization and improved the severity of AD (reduced SCORAD score), concomitantly decreasing the use of corticosteroids, antihistamines drugs, and calcineurin inhibitors [2].
